Letter to
the World
Hi! My name is Meira Claudia Macarena Giménez. Stormy Nubles is truly my life’s work and it is an honor to share it with you. Thank you for being here.
Nubles roughly translates to “you cloud” in Spanish, honoring my Paraguayan heritage. Have you ever felt like a stormy cloud? Like something wasn’t right…but you didn’t know what to do. Like you had an itch you needed to scratch, but didn’t know how. Like when the pain and grief was too heavy, and you didn’t know how to move forward. You’re not alone. And you will get through this. There will be the sun AND a rainbow after the storm.
My story is intertwined with people and places. I can’t begin this journey without acknowledging Claudelina Giménez, my first mother and woman who brought me into the world. My father Jeddu Keil who showed me the world, and my uncle Jared Keil whose unwavering support allowed me to take this step as a business owner. May they each rest in peace, rest in power and know their legacy lives on through me.
Paraguay, Thailand and New York are where I grew up, where I blossomed and where I struggled. Pain, joy, love, and loss intertwined throughout the seasons of my life. My identity has been an ongoing learning experience, never quite fitting in, always standing out. The pandemic forced me, like many others, into much needed shadow work. I started going to therapy and began to address a lot of underlying trauma and grief I chose not to look into for quite some time.
The majority of my career has been working with youth in various roles within the nonprofit sector for the past decade offering service learning, leadership and social justice programming. I’ve worked at over 15 schools throughout New York City, at Middle and High schools in Queens, the Bronx, and the Lower East Side. I’ve worked at schools in Boston, Massachusetts and Bridgeport, Connecticut. I’ve built the foundation of a school alongside youth from the Bronx and rural communities in Guatemala and Senegal. I’ve managed 30+ staff fostering a respectful, supportive and fun team dynamic. I worked tirelessly advocating and working towards creating an anti-racist and equitable work environment, knowing that we could always be better and stronger for each other.
Spirituality saved me. In my darkest of moments, I spoke to my ancestors and my deceased loved ones and asked for guidance. My meditation and oracle cards brought me a sense of safety and peace. Walking in nature healed me. Sound baths made me feel like I could breathe. I began to look inward, and built up my intuition and sense of self. I studied Oracle Cards, Reiki, Sound Healing, and Death Doulaship. I looked for alternative ways to heal and insight on living a healthy, intentional, and mindful life.
My long term vision for Stormy Nubles is to open a Healing Center. To honor spirituality in various modalities, and combine healing into sessions, workshops, and retreats rooted in leadership, social justice, and community service. A place primarily for young people, but open to all who seek something more out of life. When you pour into yourself, you’re able to pour into others. And the world needs it.
For now, I will start off offering a few services. But know, this is just the beginning. I trust you. Will you trust me? Let’s work together and heal to transform.
Yours in service, love, and light,
Meira
